Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer
A 28- year-old man was stabbed inside his home in the 5900 block of North Kings Highway around 12:52 p.m. on Friday, June 11. The suspect, Cesar J. Segura Arellana, 33, of 3300 Lockheed Boulevard #202 in Alexandria, was apprehended nearby. He was taken to jail and charged with malicious wounding and burglary. Yesenia Monico, 30, of 7419 Fordson Road in Alexandria, was charged with obstruction of justice; she allegedly failed to cooperate with police during their investigation of this case. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non life- threatening injuries.
Malicious Wounding / Burglery / Obstruction of Justice
Police responded to a bank in the 6300 block of Richmond Highway for a report of a man acting disorderly on Friday, June 4 around 1:33 p.m. The man allegedly refused an officer's commands and assaulted him. Leo G. Meyers, 70, 8612 Cushman Place in Alexandria, was taken to jail and charged with assault on a law enforcement officer. No one was injured.

Malicious Wounding
A 14-year-old boy assaulted another 14-year-old boy around 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11 in the 2100 block of Farrington Avenue. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Charges are pending.

Assault and Battery/Arrest
A woman was arrested for assaulting an 11-year-old boy in the 6100 block of North Kings Highway on Friday, April 16 around 8:30 a.m. Matias Medrano, 40, of 5871 Monticello Road #102 in Alexandria, was charged with assault and battery. The victim did not require medical attention.

Grand Larceny
A 16-year-old boy was charged with grand larceny for allegedly stealing a DVD player from a 50-year-old man in the 2300 block of Huntington Avenue on Tuesday, February 23 around 2:53 p.m. The DVD player was recovered and returned to the victim.
Trespassing Arrest
A 50-year-old man was arrested for trespassing on private property Tuesday, March 9 around 10:57 p.m. Officers on routine patrol located three men to the rear of the shopping center, located in the 2200 block of Farrington Avenue. No trespassing signs are posted on the property. All three fled when they saw the officers. Julian Mata, of 5873 Monticello Drive #120 in Alexandria, was charged with trespassing after a short foot pursuit.

Someone attempted to burglarize the 7-Eleven store at 2405 Fairhaven Avenue around 2:28 a.m. on Monday, February 8. The front window was smashed but nothing appeared to be missing from inside.

Robbery
Three men assaulted and robbed a 21-year-old man of his wallet and personal belongings as he was walking towards the Huntington Metro station on Sunday, January 24 around 10:45 a.m. in the 2500 block of Huntington Avenue. The suspects were between 16 and 20 years old, wore black coats and ski masks. The four fled the scene on foot.

Armed Robbery
A 36-year-old woman was robbed on Thursday, November 19 while working at the Casa Blanca Bakery, located at 2258 Huntington Avenue. The employee was inside the store around 7:30 p.m. when a man walked in, locked the door and displayed a handgun. The suspect demanded money, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as white, about 25 years old. He was between 5 feet and 5 feet 5 inches tall and 125 pounds, with black hair.

Attempted Robbery
5900 block of Richmond Highway
Two men, 25 and 27 years old, were the victims of an attempted robbery and assault on Sunday,
October 18 at 10:15 p.m. Three men allegedly approached the two victims in the 5900 block of
Richmond Highway and demanded wallets. The victims were assaulted after refusing to
relinquish their wallets. The suspects, described as black and in their 20s, fled on foot. The
victims were transported to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital with minor injuries.

Dog Bite
5600 block of Fenwick Drive
A parking enforcement officer was bitten by a black Labrador on Tuesday, September 15 around
12:30 p.m. The officer saw an acquaintance walking two dogs in the 5600 block of Fenwick
Drive and approached her to talk. As she walked up, one of the dogs broke free from the
womanÕs grip and bit the officer on the arm. The officer did not require medical attention and the
dog was put on quarantine.
