The following are taken from the police weekly incident summaries for the past twelve months. It covers the Huntington, Jefferson Manor, Fairhaven areas, and Riverside and Montebello apartments.   January 2010

Robbery
Three men assaulted and robbed a 21-year-old man of his wallet and personal belongings as he was walking towards the Huntington Metro station on Sunday, January 24 around 10:45 a.m. in the 2500 block of Huntington Avenue. The suspects were between 16 and 20 years old, wore black coats and ski masks. The four fled the scene on foot.

  November 2009

Armed Robbery
A 36-year-old woman was robbed on Thursday, November 19 while working at the Casa Blanca Bakery, located at 2258 Huntington Avenue. The employee was inside the store around 7:30 p.m. when a man walked in, locked the door and displayed a handgun. The suspect demanded money, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the store. The victim was not injured. The suspect was described as white, about 25 years old. He was between 5 feet and 5 feet 5 inches tall and 125 pounds, with black hair.

Attempted Robbery
5900 block of Richmond Highway
Two men, 25 and 27 years old, were the victims of an attempted robbery and assault on Sunday, October 18 at 10:15 p.m. Three men allegedly approached the two victims in the 5900 block of Richmond Highway and demanded wallets. The victims were assaulted after refusing to relinquish their wallets. The suspects, described as black and in their 20s, fled on foot. The victims were transported to Inova Mount Vernon Hospital with minor injuries.

Dog Bite
5600 block of Fenwick Drive
A parking enforcement officer was bitten by a black Labrador on Tuesday, September 15 around 12:30 p.m. The officer saw an acquaintance walking two dogs in the 5600 block of Fenwick Drive and approached her to talk. As she walked up, one of the dogs broke free from the womanÕs grip and bit the officer on the arm. The officer did not require medical attention and the dog was put on quarantine.

Assault by Mob / Abduction
2400 block of Fairhaven Avenue
Three men assaulted a 17-year-old boy in the 2400 block of Fairhaven Avenue on Friday, May 15. The teenager was walking to the store around 10:13 p.m. when he noticed the three men looking at him. They confronted him and one of the suspects punched him. They locked him in a gated area where they proceeded to strike him several more times in the upper body. The victim defended himself and was able to flee the area. The suspects were described as black, in their 20s, with brown eyes and long, black, braided hair. One suspect was about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 130 pounds and had a goatee. He wore black pants, a white shirt and gray sneakers. The second suspect was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, about 145 pounds. The victim declined medical attention.

Burglary/Arrest
6100 block of North Kings Highway
Two men were arrested after they allegedly broke into Mount Eagle Elementary School, located at 6116 North Kings Highway, on Tuesday, May 5. Police responded to the school for a burglar alarm activation and saw three men inside the building. The suspects fled and two of them were apprehended nearby by patrol and a K-9 officer. Andrew Hilldrup. 19, of 6411 Pickett Street in Alexandria, and James Pullen, 27, of 9111 Anderson Lane in Fort Belvoir, were transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and charged with burglary.

Robbery
2400 block of Fort Drive
Two Alexandria-men were robbed on Wednesday, April 8. Around 5:20 p.m. the two men, ages 31 and 48, were at their car parked in the 2400 block of Fort Drive when three men allegedly approached them armed with guns and a knife. The suspects forcibly removed the victims' property from their pockets. The suspects fled the area in a vehicle. Neither victim was injured. All three suspects were described as black, in their 20's. The first suspect was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 pounds, with medium length, braided, black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black shirt and black baseball cap. The second suspect was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 190 pounds, with short black hair. He was wearing a black shirt. The third suspect was about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 155 pounds, with medium length, braided, black hair. He was wearing a white hoodie and blue jeans. Robbery
5900 block of Richmond Highway
A 42-year-old Alexandria-area man was robbed on Wednesday, January 28. The man parked his car in the 5900 block of Richmond Highway around 11:45 a.m. As he opened the door, two men approached from behind displaying a handgun. The suspects took a bank bag from the dashboard and removed the cash from inside. They fled on foot; the victim was not injured. The first suspect was described as black, in his 20s. He was about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 210 pounds and was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and a black skull cap. The second suspect was described as either white or Hispanic, in his 20s. He was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 190 pounds and was wearing a black, hooded sweat shirt and black jeans. Intoxicated / Revoked License / Arrest
5900 block of Richmond Highway
On February 20, at approximately 6:30 p.m., an officer attempted to stop a 2003 Chevrolet sedan for traffic charges on northbound Richmond Highway near Belfield Road. The driver did not stop and a brief traffic pursuit began. The suspect struck a fire hydrant and several other vehicles before he stopped. Officers took James Marshall, 29, of 2731 Farnsworth Drive in Alexandria, into custody and transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving on a revoked license.

Robbery
6600 block of Berkshire Drive
A 42-year-old Alexandria woman returned to her home in the 6600 block of Berkshire Drive around 1:37 p.m. on Monday, January 12 to find a green SUV with a man inside parked in her space. When the man saw her parking her car, he honked the horn and moments later, two other men came running from behind the house, got into the vehicle and the vehicle sped off. Officers arrived and an investigation determined that the suspects purportedly forced entry into the victim's home and stole several items from inside. They were described as black or Hispanic, about 20 years old, wearing dark coats. The victim was not injured.
